Delivery in Russia: access limits and best-effort mode
If your end users are located in Russia, the delivery of THRON content, pages, and API calls can only be guaranteed on a best-effort basis. This page explains what this means for your channels and why it does not depend on THRON.
Best effort in Russia: what to expect on your channels
Russia may apply filters, blocks, or throttling to Western services without prior notice. For users accessing from the country, this can result in:
slowness when loading content, pages, and API responses;
disruptions in accessing THRON services.
These effects may occur even when the platform is operating normally, and THRON has no way to prevent or resolve them.
Delivery in Russia: why THRON cannot guarantee it
This is not a commercial decision by THRON. Delivery quality in the country depends on two external factors:
Interventions by Russian authorities and operators on their network.
International restrictions, which limit what our CDN partner, Akamai, can do in the country.
According to our CDN partner, observed interventions on the Russian network include IP address-based blocking, bandwidth throttling, and potential full network shutdowns. Their infrastructure is able to adapt to some of these effects, but not all.
