Domain filters: protect content and optimize traffic costs
When publishing your content online, anyone could embed it on unauthorized websites — generating bandwidth traffic at your expense and taking away your distribution control. With Domain filters you can decide exactly which domains are allowed to display your content, blocking everything else.
Whitelist or Blacklist? Choose the right mode
Filtering works in two alternative modes: they cannot be active simultaneously.

Recommended configuration
If enabling domain filtering for the first time and distributing across a main website + a few partners, use Whitelist: it provides the most granular control and minimizes accidental exposure.
How to configure Domain filters
Access the section
Go to Platform Settings > Distribution > Domain filters.

In the Filtering mode dropdown, select one of the three options:
No domain restrictions — all domains can display content
Whitelist — only authorized domains can display content
Blacklist — all domains can display content except those blocked
Add a domain to the list
Click on New domain in the upper right corner. In the dialog, configure:

Rule type — choose between:
Single domain (e.g.
www.mysite.com) — applies only to that exact addressInclude subdomains (e.g.
*.mysite.com) — applies to all subdomains; counts as 1 entry toward the limit
Domain name — required, maximum 100 characters, must be a valid domain
Note — optional, maximum 50 characters, useful for identifying the entry in the list
Click Confirm to add the domain to the list.
Edit and search
To edit or delete a domain in the list, use the actions in the corresponding row of the table.
Use the search bar above the table to quickly locate a specific domain.
Save changes
Click the Save icon in the top bar to apply changes.
Warning: Changes may take up to 1 hour to propagate across all distribution channels.
Limits and technical notes
THRON domains always exempt
All THRON domains — both platform and direct embed domains — are automatically allowed in the Whitelist and cannot be blocked in the Blacklist. They do not appear in the list and do not count toward the entry limit.
What cannot be blocked
Filtering operates at the HTTP domain level. Entities without domain origin, such as native mobile apps or automated scripts, cannot be filtered via domain rules.
Mode switching
When switching between Whitelist and Blacklist, the previous mode is disabled. Configured entries are retained and remain available should you switch back.
