WordPress Connector: configuration and usage
Connect THRON to your WordPress site and publish your assets directly from the platform, without duplication and always updated automatically. Editors access the library of approved content directly from the WordPress editor, without ever leaving the CMS.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Administrator access to your site's WordPress dashboard
Access to the THRON Marketplace to activate and configure the connector
A publicly accessible WordPress site with a registered domain and, if HTTPS, a valid and not self-signed SSL certificate.
Step 1 — Activate the connector on THRON
Access the THRON Marketplace and search for WordPress Connector.
Activate the application.
-
Open the connector's management console: here you will find the credentials needed to configure the plugin on WordPress:
clientId
AppId
AppKey
Keep note of these values — you will need them in Step 3.
From this same console you can also download the plugin's thron.zip file, if you prefer manual installation.
Step 2 — Install the plugin on WordPress
You have two installation methods. Use the automatic one unless there are technical constraints in your environment.
Automatic installation (recommended)
Log in to your WordPress dashboard with an Administrator account.
Go to Plugins → Add New.
Search for "THRON" in the search bar.
Click on Install Now next to the THRON plugin.
Once the installation is complete, click on Activate.
Manual installation (alternative)
Download the thron.zip file from the connector console in the THRON Marketplace (see Step 1).
Upload the file to the
/wp-content/plugins/directory on your server.Extract the files into the same directory.
From the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Installed Plugins and click Activate next to THRON.
Step 3 — Configure the plugin
From the WordPress dashboard, go to Settings → THRON.
-
Enter the credentials retrieved in Step 1:
clientId
AppId
AppKey
Indicate the THRON folder from which editors will be able to select content to publish.
Click on Save.
Start the initial synchronization using the specific button in the plugin console.
Warning: after saving, the content in the selected folder is imported into THRON, associated with the application, and assigned to the configured owner. Any content published later on WordPress (images, videos, audio, posts/pages) will also follow this same behavior.
