Smint.io Integration: configuration and usage
Connect THRON to Smint.io and make approved content available to your team directly in the Brand Portal, with metadata and product information synchronized automatically. Users search and download assets from Smint.io, while distribution remains managed by Smint.io servers.

Prerequisites
- Administrator access to your organization's Smint.io account
- A THRON Custom Application (App SDK) configured and connected to the source folder — request support from your THRON Customer Success - requires THRON team support
The synchronization script and the Smint.io data source must use the same THRON Custom Application. Make sure you have the pKey handy before configuring the source.
Step 1 — Create the folder and App SDK on THRON
- In THRON, create a new folder that will contain all the assets to make available in Smint.io (e.g.,
/channels/brand-portal). - Connect the folder to a THRON Custom Application (App SDK).
- Once the app is generated, note the pKey value
- Communicate the pKey to the THRON Professional Services team for script activation.
Step 2 — Add THRON as a data source in Smint.io
- Log in to your Smint.io account.
- Go to the Data Sources section and click on New Connector.
- Select THRON from the list of available connectors.
- Follow the guided configuration steps and enter the THRON Custom Application data:
- pKey
- The app credentials (AppID, AppKey)
- Save the configuration.
Step 3 — Configure the Search Index
- In the Smint.io Search Index section of the newly created source, configure the data to sync with Smint.io:
- Attributes and tags to expose in search
- The language to use for indexed metadata
- In the metamodel, choose the correct entity type:
- ✅ Thron Asset → Products — use this: exposes product data embedded in the asset
- ❌ Thron Product — do not use: exposes standalone product data, not supported in this flow
- Save the configuration.
Step 4 — Configure asset detail pages
- Go to the Pages section of Smint.io and click on Asset details.
- Choose the sections of the page where you want to show information and click on New Item to add content blocks.
- You can add:
- Tag Blocks — to show the tags associated with the asset
- Metadata Blocks — to show product attributes in the detail view
- Save the configuration.

Known limitations
- Unsynchronized users: THRON and Smint.io users are managed separately — automatic account synchronization is not provided.
Final result
Once the configuration is complete, the assets present in the THRON folder are available in the Smint.io Brand Portal, with synchronized metadata and product information. Brand Portal users can search, filter and download approved content directly from Smint.io, without accessing THRON.
