Platform supported formats
THRON accepts any type of digital asset: images in all professional formats, videos, Office documents and PDFs, audio files, and vector graphics. Once uploaded, the system automatically processes each file and makes it available for distribution on active channels, in the optimal format and quality for each device — without any manual conversion.
This page lists all supported input (upload) and output (delivery) formats.

Video delivery: streaming and download
THRON supports two video delivery modes, automatically selected based on the channel and distribution context.
Streaming
Used for adaptive playback on web, embedded players, and mobile.
- Format: HLS (with automatic quality selection during playback)
- Optimized for variable networks and low startup latency
- Supported codecs: H.264, H.265 (HLS / Fragmented MP4)
Download
Used for static distribution and direct download.
- Format: Progressive MP4
- Single quality optimized per channel
- Supported codecs: H.264, H.265, AV1
Streaming and download modes can coexist on the same environment based on distribution needs.
Automatic image optimization
During delivery, images are dynamically resized and optimized:
- Maximum generated width: 4096px
- Dynamic resizing available upon request
- Transparency preserved where supported by the output format
Video channel configuration
Video transcoding is based on predefined channel configurations that determine resolution, codec, bitrate, and delivery mode.
H.264 Channels
| Resolution | Width | Height | Bitrate |
|---|---|---|---|
| HD | 1280 | 720 | 1800 kbps |
| Full HD | 1920 | 1080 | 2500 kbps |
| 4K | 3840 | 2160 | 25000 kbps |
H.265 Channels
| Resolution | Width | Height | Bitrate | Quality Setting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HD | 1280 | 720 | 1500 kbps | 26 |
| Full HD | 1920 | 1080 | 2500 kbps | 26 |
| 4K | 3840 | 2160 | 3500 kbps | 26 |
AV1 Channels
| Resolution | Width | Height | Bitrate | Quality Setting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HD | 1280 | 720 | 1500 kbps | 34 |
| Full HD | 1920 | 1080 | 2500 kbps | 34 |
| 4K | 3840 | 2160 | 3500 kbps | 34 |
The Quality Setting is an internal compression parameter: lower values produce higher quality and larger file sizes.
Audio
| Codec | Bitrate |
|---|---|
| MP3 | 128 kbps |
Resolution management
- Content is never upscaled beyond its original resolution
- Channels with a resolution higher than the source are automatically skipped
- Aspect ratio is always preserved
- Vertical videos are handled automatically
Compatibility
To ensure maximum compatibility:
- Existing H.264 channels must remain active
- H.265 and AV1 channels can be added incrementally
- For new environments, it is recommended to directly use the standard configurations indicated above
- Existing environments may require compatibility configurations to preserve active integrations
